Keeping creation date when exporting to jpeg

i shoot raw , after developing , exporting pictures jpeg in osx, new files show export date creation , modification dates.

how can keep shooting date creation date sort pictures in finder appropriately?

(using lr 4.1 , os10.8)

"creation" , "modification" dates bear no relationship whatsoever image "capture" date, aka "date time original". first 2 dates (and times) created operating system, , reflect time actual file written disk, , last modified. these 2 dates identical. "capture" date created in camera , stays in exif part of file header on original files, , included on derivative file (e.g. jpeg export) unless choose not include metadata when export.

assuming include metadata when exporting, "capture" date still available in exported file header, , can viewed appropriate viewer. using windows explorer possible amend 'standard' file details view additionally include lot of additional data file header, including date image taken. see here:

i'm not sure if finder has same capability show "capture" date, however....you may need more specialised file browser that. first need ensure including file metadata on export....
