synching pages to print with printer driver

i using acrobat reader 9 , wnen enter page numbers print pdf document or book pages not synch printer. if enter  print page 34 may page 21. if enter print pages 234 -268 may 218 - 247. happens on 2 different printers 1 oki color printer othe hp laserjet. don't thin drivers. appreciated.

it looks document has differing style of page numbers.  example in pdf books inevitably find contents pages in roman letters while other pages numerals 1, 2 3 4 etc.  index in roman letters again.

 

the trick print required pages go page starting page printing, say: page 34 using example.  note down page in top line of window.  might show this:

 

 

now tells me page 34 in fact page 58 printing purposes.  of course using own document illustrate example idea.
