Thread: applications and executable files in Ubuntu(linux)


in windows os can see every file. includes executables(exe) files also. applications stored in folder called program files. why can't see these same sorts of files in ubuntu? perl script required have path perl interpreter @ top. tried navigating folder in ubuntu , got usr/local/bin/perl there no folder or file named perl. gives? code ran fine terminal.
executable files in binary form in linux or source code(like perl) run through interpreters os?

in nautilus file manager press crtl+h show or hide hidden & system files.

programms in linux go on place. have shared libraries (share them other programmes). result smaller brings other problems.

yes there binaries in linux well.
