Thread: Grub with multiple hard disks

i ex mac user , relatively new ubuntu , pc hardware. trying set large old celsius pc boot range of disks many of have ubuntu - several disks may connected @ once. after spending time reading grub 2 still unsure critical details.

correct in thinking multiple grub instances not communicate each other (not mentioned anywhere find) , way control grub instance used control outside of grub?

can grub instance selection done multiple hard disks combination bios settings , disk location?

others requirement do?

considering putting grub 2 on usb stick control booting - solution?

bios on old celsius appears control boot order via class of device ie floppy, optical, usb, scsi, sata or ide etc. not appear define particular device. normal or later bios have finer control? can assume within particular class scan in same order? if assume have ensure used first usb socket.

every disk has mbr , bios decides disk tried first.

afterwards, mbr of disk points specific grub install on specific partition. grub needs it's configuration files somewhere. can same disk or disk.

can installed next each other, if on separate disk, bios can select between them.

install grub debian based distro (like ubuntu), see this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1195275 @ reinstalling grub live cd.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
