Thread: Macbook Pro 2007 shuts off on install

hey i'm trying install lubuntu on brother's laptop because os x sucks on him, can't install 10.4.11 because of bug in hardware he's stuck on 10.4.6 , it's painful...

so, lubuntu is, it'll make tons faster too, problem installed refit , here's scenario.

1) boot computer, select linux lubuntu cd
2) select english, select either (doesn't matter) "try linux" or "install linux"
3) on following screen says lubuntu , supposed have progress bar computer turns off instantly progress bar starts, every time.

have solutions? i'd install :/

i don't have solution. might make easier people if had actual version numbers, such 10.04, 10.10 or 11.04.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
