Thread: no such partition grub rescue

hi new ubuntu
installed ubuntu 11.04 on asus eeepc along windows xp.
both working fine last couple of weeks, until morning when tried boot
error
"no such partition
grub rescue"
, nothing happens
searched around bit , did boot live ubunt using usb
, ran boot info script.
copy pasting here results.txt,
kindly file different other results.txt have seen on ubuntu foum having same problem. dont know next

script not mount sda3 fat efi partition , sda4 fdisk has type 15 unknown.

did have abnormal shutdown corrupted file system.

if know sure sda4 linux partition need change linux. since script cannot mount not sure if livecd gparted or disk utility let change type 83 15, not format.

first, have backup copy:
backup partition table text file & save external device.
sudo sfdisk -d /dev/sda > pt.txt

if changed type 83 run e2fsck. not think work unless type 83 , sees extx format partition.
