Thread: Nvidia Graphics, Unity, and Optimus

hello -

installed 11.04 on new laptop. laptop lenovo ideapad y470. (085523u)

* intel i5-2410m (sandy bridge [2nd gen])
* intel hd graphics 3000 (integrated)
* nvidia gt geforce 550m (graphics card)

there nvidia optimus technology.

3 questions
1. how ubuntu use nvidia?
2. how unity run (i won't it, give shot)?
3. how know if installed bumblebee correctly?
(bumblebee = (in short) optimus linux)

@ first boot, displays message
"...this computer not have hardware run unity..."
(something along lines)
pretty sure nice graphics card , processor.

therefore, not have unity running.
second, cannot seem run compiz effects.

here screen shot of system > administration > additional drivers.
