Thread: Printing to PDF via command line?

i'm trying print general documents pdf using cups-pdf via command line , still same formatted output gui apps provide via printing manager in desktop environment.

i'm aware of using command line this:

code:
lpr -p generic-cups-pdf-printer filename
this works doesn't provide same formatting when using gui print manger/spooler. assume because many more options passed lpr? or gs program being used instead?

attempted capture command being sent print spooler using ps , watch , sending log file, it's putting lot of junk characters log file , don't see command.
