Trouble with GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro CS6 (GTX 670)
i bought new gtx 670 hopes accelerate video editing in premiere. after using "nvidia hack" add list of cuda supported cards, started premiere, enabled gpu acceleration in general project preferences window, , disappointed find performance appeared identical had experienced non compatible hd 6870s.
when checked msi afterburner, gpu usage remained around 0%, when playing through videos. i'm quite card added list, have no idea what's going on.
is there chance misunderstanding gpu acceleration supposed do? i'm new premiere, don't know yet. reason bought new card, aside improved performance in 3d games, allow me scrub through project (comprised of 1080p avi videos captured fraps) without hiccups , poor fps. not reasonable expectation gpu rendering?
here's short list of pc's specs if it's help:
-intel i5 2500k (currently not overclocked)
-8gb ddr3 dual channel ram (at 1600mhz)
-1tb 7200rpm hdd
-nvidia gtx 670 oc 2gb vram
-gigabyte z68xp-ud3 motherboard
thanks in advance advice!
did go project>project settings>general , verify gpu (cuda) accleration enabled? if it's set software change , see if helps. if it's enabled next question bitrate of fraps videos? because have seen fraps video's bit-rates high require raid array holding video clips playback smoothly. in case appears have os , apps , footage playing same 7200rpm drive. isn't sufficent 1080p editing. might simple enabling within premiere pro mention earlier. if it's enabled though please check bit-rate of video you're attempting edit because i'm assuming might issue.
