Considering moving to the Creative Cloud but have an important question...
i'm considering moving creative cloud have concerns. if, example, after spending 1500+ on next 3 years on creative cloud , then, presumably @ version cs9 or cs10, able continue using cs9 or cs10 products have, had bought retail software?
i know if continue buy upgrades retail items , stop @ cs9 able use products forever not seeing incentive here if case.
your confirmation appreciated can move on decide on next steps.
cheers,
chris

no. it's all-or-nothing exit policy @ moment.
when stop paying monthly fee, lose access adobe software (unless own pre-cloud version can fall on).
many requests have been made relax exit policy , permit users perhaps pay residual fee keep using whichever version current when leave cloud. hasn't yet been offered adobe. don't expect ever offered.
ps how spend on retail versions on next 3 years given must upgrade every new version under adobe's new upgrade policy introduced cs6 cycle? i.e can no longer skip version , still qualify upgrade pricing next version.
licensing issues aside, in effect, never "own" software if want stay current. both cloud , retail subscription models.
the choice boils down upfront $$ vs monthly $$.

the primary incentive full access entire master collection low monthly fee. don't have outlay thousands of dollars upfront.
you get:
- additional cloud services (host 5 websites etc)
- multi-platform licenses (activate on win/win, mac/mac or win/mac same monthly fee. retail items single platform only)
- early access new software features cloud members only. adobe finishes writing , testing code, cloud members it. retail users must wait cs6.5 or cs7. depends if living on bleeding edge of adobe software interests you. know, change constant these days.
