[Joomla2.5.4] Error 500- MenusHtmlMenus::state not supported - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello,

i'm getting error 500 menushtmlmenus: :state not supported on entering menu-list in acp. there no sql query error shown, errorlog empty.

i have no idea causing this.

i've tried reparing database, cause every other item within acp working smoothly. db check tells me database scheme 1.7.0 , mismatching 2.5.4...
this error i'm getting on repairing db.

fatal error: call protected method joomlainstallerscript::deleteunexistingfiles() context 'installermodeldatabase' in /www/htdocs/w00b1fdd/main/administrator/components/com_installer/models/database.php on line 55

i'm guessing there corrupted. i'm afraid of reinstalling cms. in case of need of step, there way "extract" contents created far?

to you, in future, find correct forum topic please read which forum post question have put together.
as appear upgrade of 1.7 2.5 should run following sequence.

1. make sure database has been updated reflect changes update(s)
   
   1. go extensions=>extension manager->database tab
   2. click fix button (top right toolbar).
2. also , make sure clear joomla cache files.
   1. go extensions=>extension manager->updates tab
   2. click purge cache
3. report outcome.

if still not work following appear installation/upgrade process not completed correctly or in way corrupted. therefore can reinstall full package rectify omissions.

1. backup site
   in unfortunate event have not done so, backup site , database now.
2. reinstall joomla_2.5.8-full-stable_package.zip
   1. download copy of joomla_2.5.8-full-stable_package.zip
   2. go extensions ⇒ extension manager ⇒ install tab
   3. in upload package file panel
      1. browse downloaded file.
      2. click upload , install.
3. final steps
   1. go extensions ⇒ extension manager ⇒ discover tab
      
      1. click discover
         • this show new extensions available
         • it show old, deprecated one's, particularly if site updated 1.6.x, aware.
      2. select new extensions only
      3. click install.
   2. go extensions ⇒ extension manager ⇒ database tab.
      • click fix
   3. go extensions ⇒ extension manager ⇒ discover tab
      • click purge cache
   4. now check out site , features both existing , new make sure working.
4. backup site
   once checks completed (and assuming alright now) must ensure have clean copy, @ point in time, of site , database part of overall backup plan should have in place site. so run fresh of site , database.
