Thread: befuddled! ubuntu or slackware


hey ,i have been using linux(ubuntu 11.04 32 bit) n loving on month till hard disk got crashed. .i'm using hp dv5 laptop amd turion 2.0 ghz 64 bit processor, 3 gb ram. went great except little slow boot(i tried cli boot) didn't expect ubuntu , few errors.my usual works r c , java programming , web browsing using firefox.i got hard disk replaced service center.as i've heard slackware 1 of fastest linux distro , great 1 wants learn linux command line(as i'm).should use ubuntu or switch slackware or go dual boot?plz because i'm still noob... tia

if want try other distros go ahead. slackware considered more proficient users wouldn't let stop you. try gentoo or fedora. memory, gentoo 1 compile source. imagine bit tedious after while. maybe should check out myself. multiboot way try these out.
