Thread: No network, dim screen after suspend - 10.04 LTS

hi all,

title says, have no network , screen dimmed when come out of suspend; e.g. close lid , open. computer suspends okay when close lid, though.

on opening, screen dimmed , brightness control doesn't work. logging out , in doesn't help. restart way return normal.

toshiba satellite pro l510 running 10.04 lts.

update: have 10.04, 10.10, 11.04 installed on machine , after suspend, screen unusably dim, strange part ...

* when log out of 10.04, login screen still dim. login, changes nothing. desktop still dim.
* when restart machine still dim @ grub menu, when boot in 10.04, 10.10 or 11.04 restores brightness normal (just before login screen).
* adjusting brightness makes no difference.

odd ... seems known bug , haven't found known fix yet ...

found page suggested putting code in /etc/rc.local, did, didn't fix me, although has ...

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
