Thread: Run program as root

so downloaded latest vmware player, enjoyed using on windows , have come in need of virtual machine program. downloaded fine , ended "vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle" in downloads directory. here's gets annoying. set executable, try run it, , says need root access. reset permissions allow access it, still says need root. go terminal , type:
code:
sudo vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
and says vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle not command.

so, here's i've been trying figure out, , seems need know. how straight tell run terminal, , in case, root access.

code:
chmod +x vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
code:
sudo ./vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
or

code:
sudo sh vmware-player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
hope helps
