Thread: Volume difference fix?

hey guys,

use laptop kind of media machine. it's plugged in in bedroom , streams playstation in living room using mediabox.
on playstation, there little difference, on laptop, depending on disc/album/downloaded file, volume differs wildly, means turn volume hear 1 thing, blow eardrums out next thing!

wondering if there way, without having to, example, feed each file through audacity or something, guarantee files put out @ same volume?

p.s. bear in mind beginner, if have go through terminal or something, need spelled out me! put in shortcuts , technical terms , brain cry

it depends on you're using play them back, players have support replay gain tags. personally, use easymp3gain tag files volume information. handles few file types, not flacs iirc, @ command line.
