Moving site between servers has led to errors - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi. hope can i've not used joomla before.

i want migrate 2.5 server. took database, file structure etc. can't work on new server.

three key issues:
1) site says 'article not found', or 'category not found' if go index.php.
2) can login admin, change global config blanks file 0 bytes.
3) further issue if click links in admin, or after loggging in, directs me weird url: http://www.mysite.co.ukhttp/administrator - whacking http in middle. (not sure if perhaps server related).

i tried brand new install try , rule out migration issue - different issue entirely there. in chrome, once select language n othing happens. flickers , stays on page. in ie spinny loading icon, doesn't progress.

regarding article not found, category not found, may have go into
each article , change category. had trouble many files/articles
"not found", find setting category fixed that. joomla just
have categories , no sections, depending how set articles
in old site, don't migrate category setting correctly.
