Thread: amd/ati hd video decoding (preferably vlc)


i complete noob ubuntu.

can't vlc decode video via graphics, 720p uses 80% of cpu , 1080p uses 125% (then crashes). believe have correctly installed xvba driver , think need setup vlc correctly not sure of this. have read people have had board running full hd 15% cpu usage sure has way have things set.

running
msi e350ia e45 (amd / ati 6310)
4gb ddr3 (running @ 1333mhz)
ubuntu 11.04 64bit


said new ubuntu no doubt has been answered numerous times couldn't find explained guide amd setup.

in advance.

you might best search/follow of linux-vaapi-amd zacate/fusion threads on xbmc forums

of applicable & useful debugging if want use vlc.

whole zacate/fusion not seem in anyway close working out-of-the-box linux.
may able find xbmc live build zacate/fusion..
