Thread: Ubuntu 11.04 boots to black screen

i set ubuntu 11.04 desktop 32-bit installation on older pc found in basement. running xp before , had 2 hard drives left xp install alone , installed ubuntu on second hard drive. booted , worked fine until rebooted 2nd or 3rd time, after select ubuntu grub loads black screen. in recovery mode if flashes text across screen , goes black screen. seemed wierd same thing occurs if try boot usb drive used install first time, win xp boots fine.

trying debug getting frustrating since mouse, keyboard, monitor have available 1 i'm using on main computer have switch inputs test solution find.

can figure out problem is, or working install again?

just question. when shut down computer pushing on/off button on computer? if not linux needs shut down using software. if it's old computer have run disk utility on disk see if has bad sectors?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
