Thread: Ubuntu slow in torrent downloading?
i have felt numerous times. when use ubuntu downloading torrents hardly goes 200 kbps if download same torrent in windows goes around 600-800kbps....quite fast in windows....
idea why happens? have set no limits on downloading , uploading rates, have huge list of trackers in transmission bit client...but nothing helps....2-3 hours in windows helps me in downloading files....but don't want go windows download ....
also, when download in ubuntu, files named .part (eg. filename.avi.part) till time finished downloading....while not same case in windows...where kept is...any thoughts on folks...
my thoughts trying various torrent clients on linux see if behaviour consistent among them.
maybe ethernet/wifi driver bottleneck slowing down.
though avi.part, can still play file in vlc.
if don't .part, uncheck "append part.." in preferences->torrents
there default limit in transmission, believe it's
maximum peers per torrent 60
maximum peers overall 240
can increased.
cheers.
