Variable data and InDesign interface

i have proposal have variable data in , needs stay editable. created document in indesign , not sure program can use create interface in.

what want set interface either or in office fill out or select items want in proposal , creates document (that still editable, in case there few tweeks want)

the variable data include basics such as:

client/company name

address

etc.

they want able select menu of "benefits" pick from.

for example interface say:

what benefits include in proposal?

x  benefit a

    benefit b

x  benefit c

x  benefit d

     benefit e

then ones "x" appear not rest.

certain verbiage use such "customer or member" depending on type of business writing proposal for. example:

what type of company?

a ....(verbiage customer)

b ....(verbiage member)

c ....(verbiage customized)

then there pages include math:

product name                      prod $ (won't change)          qty                total investment

is possible?

ok discovered conditional text....very cool. answers verbiage question.

is possible create dreamweaver page, import excel , run data merge or on thinking it....even bigger question complicated else do?

using data merge... no. wasn't designed database query result parser, rather designed plonk information formfield appears. doesn't have "triggers" such if-else statements.

what you're talking scripted though, beyond scope. javascript available scripts panel, , once clicked, pop-up window appear prompting user specific fields entered. checkbox stuff... need advice there.
