EasySign: Can I or can't I modify filled fields?!

is me, or acrobat echosign user-hostile piece of garbage? using reader 10.1.3. below form i'd love fill out , perhaps "sign" tiff of signature, first have type in fields. getting point took me 20 minutes morning:

acrobat easysign.jpg

(sorry furry jpeg; adobe forums passively informed me after tried saving 3 non-antialiasing "content types" accept jpeg.)

if @ name field under "your information" section, you'll see 3 blue blotches reflecting 3 multiple-selections of zero-length text area boxes list @ right. objects result of patiently left-clicking i-beam on name in effort modify text i've entered in each field. each time did so, briefly see blip appear under i-beam, not allow me edit text. blip, of course, zero-length text area box being created. persisted because @ 1 moment swear did see arrow icon , let me make blue selection on 1 patch of text, reason when typed nothing happened, , apparition vanished , not repeat it. , after few minutes, when in frustration started playing right-clicking on text field, discovered "comments list" useless me.

there dozens of these mini-boxes on sheet (just @ how "comments list" has 86 entries instead of 12 contain text). means can't edit once i've finished text, doesn't it? if so, why not? why not clear me, sophisticated user? why bizarre , unpredictable behavior? or kind of idiot, not having found correct incantation? perhaps 1 of adobe's priestly programmers or myriad sycophants enlighten all, tacitly suggesting it's merely stupidity, knew blessed secret first time.

i've searched pretty exhaustively solution , far have found nothing, perhaps that's because i've budgeted 45 minutes would-be simple task. going have pull file illustrator, or print out , mail it?

twenty or years ago, first or second person outside of mountain view shown alpha of carousel. since moment -- , despite having held out hope numerous times -- still can't fill out document online without heartache. why can't edit field? going have when want modify multi-line field? workarounds on years have run gamut of every possible thing can imagine, scanning photoshop or illustrator or quark or indesign; blind fields , double-exposures on laser printer; glue; hacking fields postscript setfonts , movetos , shows.

i've spent 40 years in graphic arts; half of them i've wrestled acrobat, on pretty complex work products having features of debatable benefit when shoehorned pdf format. when comes simple single-page monochrome letter/a4 form -- abundant portable document on earth -- in acrobat v10 , want fill out form , sign , e-mail , still can't.

why life harder when run through typewriter, adobe? doing billions? how more of our lives' valuable moments going squander?

(p.s. difference day makes: hours after beginning -- , before submitting article -- myself have discovered incantation few minutes' further experimentation on many expended. can recreate arrow , edit field. not difficult, far obvious , furthest thing ui technique. nevertheless, know blessed secret, or @ least 1 part of it. not change position above. can surmise why, o adobe priesthood of insufferable sanctimony? if takes seasoned programmer hours learn out combination, makes think grandma , grandpa ever going figure out?)

och, product mess. learning more how use it. barely usable. attempting distinguish between typewriter mode , comments, if there distinction. trying out of reader text-selection mode , add final field, , won't let me. never did find how set leading, assuming there way, there isn't.

all of should take 0 educative time, taking me trial , error. no pencil-and-paper emulator should require trial , error, less extended time taking. if takes me time, less sophisticated users take far, far longer.
