State transition via button shows in Preview mode, but not when in Run mode?

i new flash catalyst (using 5.5) have picked on last week. working using existing project, , add project in format has been determined. being said, have learned needed in order complete tasks given me. far, have not had problems aside "on click" transitions 1 state another.

 

i created button , added interaction in "on click" of button, there .75s fade out state in project. there "on click" button transitions of exact type in project, , can tell interaction settings , smooth transition settings of new button created seem match of existing.

 

here's thing: transition works when clicking preview button in timeline, when clicking file > run project transition no longer seems work. instead of .75s fade out shown in preview, transition stark , immediate switch next state. actual transition 1 state other correct, not aesthetically correct, there no fade.

 

i have tried copying , pasting existing , working button correctly functioning transition exisisting state new one, when change text of copied button, linked existing button text changes. when previous button unselected , new state selected.

 

what preventing transition happening in run mode when appears working correctly in preview? glitch of sort or missing step/some information? of of new things i've learned in catalyst, seems easiest one, yet reason hardest execute.

 

my apologies being long winded, driving me nuts, , @ risk of wasting time, wanted provide info possible.

 

 

 

update: problem solved

 

in case suffering similar problem, solution simple: select desired state transition (state 1    >   state 3) in "timelines" panel. select button being used incite transition clicking on in area state being previewed. click "smooth transition". simple enough, , transition should run when in run mode.
