Thread: Can't install 10.04/EMC2, broken package

on new installation of 10.04 on toshiba a30, i'm trying install emc2, using installer file downloaded linuxcnc.org.
@ end of process, error message below after trying fix broken package package manager.

e:/var/cache/apt/archives/rtai-modules-2.6.32-122-rtai_3.8.1-linuxcnc1_i386.deb: trying overwrite '/etc/udev/rules.d/99-rtai.rules', in package rtai-modules-2.6.24-16-rtai 0

can me past problem ?

need 1 ? replaced newer one, rtai-modules-2.6.32-122-rtai_3.8.1 ?

many thanks
john

i think i've found solution tracking down , reading emc documentation wiki: ubuntu10.04packagenotes.
under known problems one, , purging previous rtai seems answer.will try tomorrow, , mark solved if proves case.
