Thread: Graphics glitch on Ubuntu 9.10 with older laptop
greetings. first time poster , admitted n00b.
installed ubuntu karmic koala onto old ibm thinkpad (i think it's x23 model, don't quote me on it). reason went older, obsolete version is, honestly, it's 1 run on it. said, love , see no reason go lose-dows full time (i'll still windows machine in order learn inner workings of it... thinking of going school tech job, knowledge me good).
1 problem though.
when bring various windows (most disturbingly, system monitor), bizarre glitch. it's hard describe, i'll give screencap.
apologize if has been posted in previous thread. if has, please direct me it.
in advance!

p.s. i'm n00b in regards inner workings. know they're supposed do, don't know actual names.
ubuntu 9.10 has reached "end of life" , no longer supported in way. it's quite possible graphics bug has been fixed in newer release; suggest trying live cd's of 10.04 (the long-term-support release) , 11.04 (the current release) see if have better support graphics card.
speaking of which, kind of graphics card have? find relevant information on forums. luck!![]()
