update-solved: ok found solved issue. future gateway users may read -- try fix here (i'm using m model, fix t model, worked anyway).

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1250802

leads to:

http://blog.wessendorf.org/2009/05/h...teway-t-6345u/

add line alsa.conf:

code:
options snd-hda-intel model=eapd probe_mask=1 position_fix=1
you can open alsa.conf this:

code:
sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

this might relevant it's gateway m-series same codec yours: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/cof...-stac9205.html

try first:
code:
echo "options snd-hda-intel model=eapd" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
