Thread: New to ubuntu - want to install on Samsung N250 Netbook

hello everyone

firstly total ubuntu , linux newbie please gentle...am using windows 7 across networked pcs @ home.

i've received new samsung n250 plus netbook comes windows 7 starter (yuk). read post on ebuyer has installed ubuntu on n250 thought i'd give go tonight.

main concern whether wi-fi card (broadcom 802.11n according windows) work when remove windows , install ubuntu. intend use netbook internet use while working abroad.

possible test works running ubuntu usb stick first (without removing windows 7)?

thoughts (and relevent links) appreciated. did run search on forum earlier there info lost..

i suggest make bootable usb stick ubuntu 11.04. it's quite simple do, can use live cd on main computer run ubuntu , make bootable usb stick it.

wireless card supported , work fine after installing os.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
