actions taken resolve forum post assistant (v1.2.3) 21st december 2012 wrote:been getting occasional blank screens when opeing home page later works. started become more frequesnt , tried edit configuration.php include debug lines. original php file didn't have closing } or closing ?> added them , uploaded it. admin stopped working home page had not been working several hours. changed original configuration file had no effect.
so have broken how , still no closer original problem.

i wouldn't manually edit joomla php files....can tell hosting provider is? i've seen weird things on godaddys distributed system, , worse on free hosting....i'm guessing you're on shared?

any new extensions? updates? custom php modifications?

you want error_reporting on , display_errors on clear out browser cache , revisit pages. mucking php can cause errors , crash giving these types of problems.

backup config.php , copy 1 joomla's 2.5.8 package, fill in appropriate values access db , etc...?

also disable third party modules,plugins,components temporarily , enable 1 one make sure work. can manually disable in mysql if necessary switching 1 0 in "enabled" column of tables.
