Hello World... - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello everyone...
i'm new here, , new joomla. have few questions kind answer.
1) come old school, there applications such firefox facilitated design of web "page". i'm beginning grasp concept of cms type application, have not yet quite understood conversion in terminology. direct me to, or me with, conversion table if will, say... "category" same thing (web) "page", or template?
2) within web hosting account (g#daddy), permitted 25 sites... how set individual sites using joomla application (which have installed in main hosing site of account, , have additional domains) ?
3) there seem many "free" template providers around web... such templates free... or come unforeseen strings attached, coded-in advertising, or hidden links provider? saying goes... if not selling product... selling me !
4) designing site(s)... best install joomla on local machine build/amend site, or work using web host's application? think using host's application, site live during development , users seeing changes live, , may not thing until such time satisfied design or changes. there such thing development folder development site can developed , tested without public seeing development version?

these beginner type questions, therefore apologize in advance. if there tutorial available answer these questions, won't offended if provide link such. did go through 20 lessons on buildajoomlawebsite, helped, didn't me.

it kind of if summarize questions.
till now, see that...
1. want know cms
2. want know whether can use same joomla kit on other sites.
3. require free , useful template joomla site.
4. want know whether developing site on local end more beneficial or developing on domain directly.
