Thread: How to create a startup file?

i need create startup file. far i've been able find out best locations /etc/init , /etc/init.d directories. 2 questions that:
1) can make blahblah.conf file in 1 of these directories , automatically read @ boot-time or need create line directs right file , location in again other file?
2) matter of directories (init of init.d) directories use, ie., what's difference?

thanks,
bart

take here for starting , stopping services @ boot.
take here for adding program startup session (much easier imo).
