Thread: Ubuntu freezes when copying large files

system keeps freezing when try copy files on 1gb, copy , paste in nautilus or using cp produce same affect. after while system becomes unresponsive, i've left in state , hour never came back. after restart, can see never copy more 1gb.

please help, first time use linux , love issue annoying, have restated system dozens of times.

system vaio yb15 ubuntu natty x64, file system ext4, please tell me if need more data or logs files.


in advance , excuse english.


update:

tracked down problem virtualbox: problem gone after ubuntu reinstall reappeared before after installing virtualbox. haven't found solution yet.

without being there run memtest86, or other memory diagnostic tools, preliminary suspicion may have corrupt ram. however, cannot sure that's is. i'd suggest running few diagnostic tools testing memory , hard drive.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
