Thread: Ubuntu freezes when ejecting USB devices

hi there,

i'm running ubuntu 11.04 , has been running smoothly thusfar (despite unity niggles here , there). have, been running bit of problem following update.

whenever eject (safely remove) usb device machine, ubuntu freezes. i can't out of freeze except hard shutdown/restart , it happens every single time safely remove or eject usb device laptop.when crashes, capslock indicator light starts blinking , reason laptop starts heating because fan starts running higher , higher if i'm running resource hungry application. (i'm pretty sure heat has caused battery damage laptop less year old , after issue started happening ubuntu has started giving me warnings battery capacity down 40% , battery might damaged, that's story).

suggestions appreciated.

for battery damage, remove battery when i'm not carrying computer around. might want when testing prevent further damage.

test, press ctrl+alt+f1 when it. hope see terminal , can log in. run command

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
