ok, have succeeded in installing ubuntu on satellite. 1 more major hurdle before ironing out smaller kinks such microphone / camera not working etc. big hurdle unable load unity. every time try log in message have insufficient hardware unity , must run classic instead, , classic loaded automatically. makes no sense have more required specs unity. have, per system monitor, is...

memory 1.5gb
processor 0: 1.73ghz
processor 1: 1.73ghz
free space: 199gb

processor gma 950 chipset within requirements per ubuntu wiki. thing can think of is because running in nomodeset, way can boot chipset. know if issue, or if there else missing?

see if there proprietary driver graphics chip/card . can check administration > additional drivers in classic gnome . if there recommended driver offered , install , try login ubuntu. if not defer has experience setup .

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
