Thread: vm.swappiness setting

lately have been reading on vm.swappiness.

range recommend at, system is:

- amd 64 x2 6000
- 8 gb on-board memory
- plenty of hd space

have 1 or 2 programs open @ time....

hey, i've neber used wubi ive installed straight seperate hd, far ive seen people 4+ gb of ram set vm.swappiness=10 that's recomendation.

though have mine vm.swappiness=2 (no not typo) running phenom x6 8g of ram , backtrack 5 (ubuntu 10.04 lucid extra's more or less) runs flawlessly - $0.02
