Why use 3 different disks for editing
hi forum,

i working with1920 - 1080 blackmagic motion jpeg footage, , @ moment storage setup
c: os/programs
external esata raid 0: captured media/scratch files/project files..
i editing on both workstation , laptop swapping esata raid drive between systems, on workstation experiencing occasional playback , exporting problems while editing on workstation.
on laptop worse, playback regularly pauses long periods before continuing or crashing (not responding)
could above mentioned problems due storage setting? if can away adding additional external esata 7200 store render/scratch/project files? input appreciated.

in short, need multiple disk setup eliminate reading/writing @ same time conflicts. see optimizing hard disks video todd. video contains reference this harm's article disk setup.
also laptop amount of ram far below of need performance. practical minimum 8-12 gb (and 24 gb or higher - optimal performance).
