Alignment problems and Symbol issues

recently upgraded cs3 cs6, , having real buggy issues.

 

first , foremost, when try align objects, weird stuff happens. instance, several objects selected (with or without key object selected), can align objects middle (horizontally), when try align them vertically (to each other, not artboard), distributed weird places instead (and not evenly spaced, either). yes, proper "align to" option selected, , "snap pixel grid" turned off. ridiculous. i'm spending ton of time effing around alignment issues instead of getting things done.

 

working symbols infuriating... have few custom symbol libraries use pretty regularly. in cs3, drag symbol onto artboard. "break link symbol" adjust color, etc. doing this, object still grouped in same way designed , retained sub-groupings. now, when break link ungroups everything. also, puts these symbols weird sub-layer acts it's not part of actual layer i'm working (can't send back/bring front/bring forward/send backward etc.), can still move other objects in front of or behind it. solution i've found copy elements, delete them, , paste them same effing layer. what. the. hell.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
