Navigation menus not displaying - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi. i'll apologize in advance state of website in question. built in 2009 , has been sadly neglected since then. still running joomla version 1.5.7. site belongs dad , i'm trying him update it. i'm aware vulnerable , needs updated....
anyway, here site:

the navigation menu on site not displaying. displaying fine years. i'm not sure when stopped displaying... may have been months... on home page linked above, nav menu should appear on left side under brown fhi logo. assigned main menu module set "left" position.
there 2 templates used on site , whatever wrong affecting both of them. there supposed nav bar across top of page here:

i've tried moving (non-menu) module "left" position, , show in spot. issue seems specific menu modules. i've tried creating new menu scratch , assigning new menu module. nothing works -- can't menu modules show up.
possible causes:
1) site got hacked few weeks back. restored backup , changed passwords, etc. it's possible missed something.
2) perhaps our webhost made update server affecting things.
so... ideas? files affect menu modules , how displayed? insight great appreciated.

a couple things...
double check make sure menu modules enabled, published , assigned pages should show on. basic, i've made dumber mistakes :-)
secondly, i'd suggest replacing of old 1.5 files latest version, 1.5.26. aside security issue, you'll know working best files can (rather old files). before upload full 1.5.26 package (less installation folder), make sure make backup.
if menu still isn't working, there strange going on template. easy way test switch default template , see if menus show (after assigning module pertinent module positions).
