Thread: Change filesystem from RAW to NTFS?

hello all!

first of all, ubuntu. still working on getting way around , finding things overall think great!

have problem. used friends removable drive watch movie on laptop, , when put in doesn't work.
uses windows 7. has alot of stuff on drive rather not reformat, im here asking fantastic people help.

had formatted ntfs , raw..i have no idea how. won't work on either desktop (xp) or laptop (7) works fine on ubuntu

gives?

i'm not sure why changed raw, may want program called testdisk repair it. believe it's in repos. search software center or install via apt-get so:

sudo apt-get install testdisk

can use program , it'll mft, partition table, etc. , repair it, if can.

edit: question did have hooked external? if did unmount (not unplug can cause issues this) or shutdown remove it?
