1) type of gui editor. making simple windows looks easy without editor i'm reading more practical window require gui editor.

2) library use. i'm more concern i'm doing work in ubuntu windows. i'd crossplatform capability, doesn't have pretty in windows.

3) file. i've notice i'm going have use lot of classes find parameters. i've been told don't want bother trying memorizing them. tools i've used in windows don't work because i'm using windows 7, , apparently microsoft frowns on backwards compatibility.

4) if possible, i'd in 1 package convenience. i've played more 1 linux ide know there's complexity them.

thanks- arukas

long story:

i've done programming in c/c++. of programming have done console. (terminal , dos window) i've never called console before think word it. , have tools that. , pretty simple.

i'm wanted graduate , go gui. plus i'd possibility of cross platform compatibility. console programs, pretty simple recompiling code.

i've programmed in ubuntu, , think want stay in ubuntu. working in windows "microsoft studio express" looks needed via website , live chat associates, don't tell till after start installing (license agreement) evaluation. not enjoy misinformation , not use products.

should say, i've never done gui in linux, i've used visual basic 15 years ago.

i've done couple of tutorials trying program gui. however, i'm not having trouble following tutorials, sure notice i'm missing useful tools.

if want cross platform applications , behave native on every platform suggest wxwidgets. gui library has support many things such threads, networking , many others. offers need cross platform programming.

toolkit written c++ has bindings python, perl, ruby , many other languages.

it's documentation rich , can find on net googling class name.

gui builder toolkit wxglade, wxforms , wxsmith code::blocks ide.

have been using code::blocks before switching emacs.
