Thread: nm-applet icon missing from panel

in 11.04 on dell latitude d610 laptop, there 2 logins. user1 has sudo privs, user2 not.

when either user logs in, network-manager picks on whatever remembered wireless network available, connects, , nm icon shows in panel.

if other user logs in (via switch user), connection persists, nm icon not show in panel.

under 11.04 appears there no way put nm icon in panel, when connection set "available users", , when user missing icon user1 (who has sudo privs).

if control switched first user logged in, nm icon still there, , system still connected, if user logs off (rather clicking switch user), connection dropped, , when other user gives password resume session, there neither connection nor icon can re-established.

appear bug, there way ***force*** nm icon appear in panel? connection set "available users", , doing networking start not anything.

under 11.04 appears there no way make icon appear in panel if not there.
