admin menu & sub menu missing - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

ok, have looked through half dozen other forum topics , gotten lot of seemingly information them issue.. however, still pulling hair out on problem. first post in forum, have been able problem solve issue comes (which seems constantly, unfortunately).

when cleaning out extensions not use, accidentally deleted administrator menu , sub menu modules backend. following instructions on other forum topics, re-uploaded mod_menu via ftp, , used "discover" feature install 2 menu modules. able see these modules in extensions manager, all. not available in module manager editing.

i followed instructions add sql joomla table in phpmyadmin, i'm getting errors. have tried adding jos_modules , jos_extensions. these instructions joomla 1.5 , 1.7, respectively, figured wouldnt work anyway. dabbled bit more in phpmyadmin did not results.

i'm assuming need sql add joomla table these modules , running. have yet find joomla 2.5.... , i've found 6 or 7 topics issue in j1.5 , 1.7. joomla updated 2.5.8, , date. i've tried cleaning cache in both joomla , browser. trust me when have tried can find.

so guess ultimate question is, need after re-upload module files server, them work again?

have got these 2 in #__modules table?

note id may need different (if used).
