Blank site and cannot set "permissions" in back end - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
i installed joomla! 2.5.7 on website (i use dreamhost host sites , install me). have few other websites using version, , have no problem them.
however, on particular site, when go url, site blank-- totally white screen. (the site working fine week or so, not now!) url correct, in address bar, there's nothing on page. takes second or "load" say, once it's done "loading" it's blank. can log side (administrator page show up!) , when , take site "offline," front end show "offline" page. however, when use admin. password log in front end, same blank page!
sometimes, while blank page "loading," tiniest fraction of second, can see actual page flash, again, ends being white. tried going in end , copying url menu pasting address bar. same thing: page flashes minutest fraction of second, white.
also: when i'm in end, , click on of "permissions" drop-down things, nothing happens. , when try change in template (regardless of template changing) nothing happens (i can change drop-down choices, when click save revert whatever before. can save other stuff (articles, etc.) not template, nor of "permission" drop down items. can't make them drop down see them.
i've emptied cache on browser, , have tried other browsers, no avail.
i realize kind of long question, i'd appreciate help! much!

try open site using google chrome , check error. if using firefox see white page no error.
