Cross Refs between chapters not hyperlinked (RH10/FM11)
this week installed ats 4.0 determine if resolve issues having new single sourced project. happily installed , able resolve mapping issues nested bullets , numbered sequences. 1 issue still cannot solve, though, think bug. wanted post here see if else has encountered because cannot believe it's not popped already. seems occurred in past structured framemaker , other posters have mentioned similar cases dont have resolution.
my project file 1 book handful of chapters output webhelp. have xrefs within each chapter , between chapters. project, rh9 , fm11, handled between chapter links (although has problem have not solved of not actually mapping style properly...cannot rid of page numbers in xrefs). links within , between chapters worked fine.
i copied project new location (the rh source , fm source files) i'd working separate set new rh/fm versions. opened files fine in new versions , spent day or 2 learning new versions , redoing style mappings. sticking point xrefs dont work between chapters in same book. style in fm same either tag type, i've mapped them <paratext>. oddly, mappings work nicely in new version ...the page numbers go away , <paratext>. true within chapter links. cross chapter links <a> tag without href , still have source styling including page number.
i've gone around in circles trying figure out have done cause , cannot figure out. i've tried removing "<blue>" tag that's in fm style in case span tag messing things up. no change. consistently cross chapter links. i've opened .apj files see if _any_ of them offer clue ...i remain clueless.
attaching screenshots
css previous version (rh9/fm10). notice <a> tag has lovely href embedded.
same source file mappings redone bullets , lists. double-checked xref mappings <paratext> (a few xref styles not used not mapped). notice within chapter links beautifully handled - <paratext>. href tag missing between chapter links thruout project.
css same source files using rh10/fm11.
help. close!

the thread you're pointing deals bug in structured fm; kind of sounds you're working in unstructured fm, right?
i've had same experience in unstructured fm10 rh9; of cross-refs (which come on formatted fine - no on page xx stuff) work proper hrefs, others don't. thing can narrow down length of file path other file when cross-ref made (through fm ignorance, we've got super-long folder paths on network drive fm project).
