J2.5.7 and PHP5.3/5.4 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi!

right i'm upgrading php5.2.17 php5.3 j2.5.7 site via cpanel. there precautions need take before upgrading php? when upgrading php5.3, checkmark lists 'additional extensions available installation' :

http
imagick
magick wand
mail parse
oauth
oci8
upload progress
ioncube
sourceguardian

do need checkmark of those?

edit: worth upgrading 5.4 already?

there should not issues upgrade recommend doing backups of each site , database precaution never know when go wrong server itself.

at moment best stick 5.3.x 5.4.x has introduced lot of changes , not joomla development pace yet. on part of third party developers there non-critical never less annoying issues joomla developers addressing - j 3.x.x development

i suggest @ time not need additional extensions particularly if site(s) work fine @ moment. there option add them @ later date in case if need arose. best leave alone now.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
