Sometimes my keyboard becomes unresponsive when using Photoshop CS6, & I have to restart

since upgraded photoshop cs6, i've found every once in while keyboard becomes unresponsive.  can't tell whether specific i'm doing triggers it, i'll editing image , press shortcut key , find doesn't work. doesn't happen when first open image, after i've been working while. far can tell (it's pretty random) seems happen when i'm using tool apply effect image, last time happened when i'd been using spot healing brush repeatedly on photograph. (of course correlation without causality, since i'm big fan of spot healing brush , tend use quite bit whenever i'm editing photos). note modifier keys still function, of letter , number keys unresponsive.

 

sometimes - , lately seems happens always, there's sound associated shut off.  it's possible times didn't hear sound had speakers off.  it's brief clicking noise - , don't think it's of built-in alert sounds on mac, since listened of them , recall sound being different - sound coming speakers , not mechanical sound machine.  have no idea might causing this. saw complaining of couple of years ago, thought might have wacom tablet. own one, don't use it, , happens when i'm not using it.  way i've found keyboard responding again shut down photoshop , restart.

 

i'm on macbook pro, 2.66 ghz intel core i7, 8gb ram; i'm on os x 10.7.4 (not quite ready upgrade mountain lion).

do have keyboard remapping or keystroke shortcut programs installed?
