Thread: Can't log in

i have had ubuntu on (approx. 4 year old) laptop since karmic, , regularly upgraded newest version.
don't unity, tried turn ubuntu xubuntu. so, installed xubuntu-desktop official ubuntu ppa. now, have xubuntu-style gdm, "xubuntu" splash screen , on; can select both xfce session , xubuntu session gdm.
every time try log in using either "xfce" or "xubuntu" session, xorg server crashes, , return gdm (in different terminal).
trying execute init 5 -> startxfce4 recovery console not successful.
thing managed log in root root recovery console.

here logs get:
- dmesg, after try log in gdm:
[ 919.671825] xfce4-session[3005]: segfault @ 0 ip 003cdf63 sp bf95b070 error 4 in libxfce4util.so.4.1.1[3c6000+d000]
- when try run startxfce4, get: http://pastebin.com/aj3rutz0

other sessions (kde-plasma; gnome; unity...) work correctly.

thing found, googling, http://superuser.com/questions/24687...he-second-time , didn't help

uninstalling, purging, reinstalling, removing configuration files (i deleted both ~/.config/xfce4 , ~/.cache) did not change anything.

tried copy ~/config/xfce4 folder working xubuntu system (an older pc have directly installed xubuntu natty), of no use either.

have ideas on how can xfce working? further information should provide?

tia
