Thread: Facing many problems on HP 620 :(

yesterday spent whole day trying make ubuntu 11.04 32bit version work on hp 620. installed using pen drive alongside windows , here happened. able boot right after installation , when restart it, or shut down , start, after selecting ubuntu grub menu screen went blank , nothing appeared after 10 minutes. reinstalled different settings 4-5 times hoping work. freaked out @ point. chance figured out, problem wifi, don't use, had turned off windows. tried different things , came conclusion had keep on or ubuntu wouldn't load. in short solved problem.
@ same time when thinking in fact operating system , maybe i'd shift removing windows, more problem discovered. here list of current problems;

1. first of all, bluetooth behaved erratically. strange behavior shows , haven't been able send single file it.

2. press of wireless key, toggles wifi , bluetooth, hang ubuntu. have use power button turn off directly.

3. not able shutdown, restart, standby, nothing. didn't try hibernate , suspend. standby, screen goes black lights still on, , not able recover state. , shutdown , restart, vanishes except wallpaper , it's stuck there. have use power button turn off directly in cases. in short, it's method turn off.

smaller problems live it's nicer have bug free system.

4. when booting ubuntu, shows background , afterward shows ubuntu logo 2-3 seconds , boots instead of showing logo entire times, , screen becomes of small size , shifts upper left corner.

5. when boot, resolution disturbed , in ratio of 3:4, 1024x768 , have change manually full screen.

6. while ubuntu running, wifi indicator light keeps blinking alternating blue , orange lights, otherwise blue on , orange off. , when stuck while shutting down, stays blue.

experienced in 1 day. didn't try install again or maybe have other problems. maybe guide me how make work

ps: thought trying 64bit version don't have capacity left in me download 700mb more @ speed of 20kb, spend day , still not see work

edit: forgot mention working fine on friend's acer aspire mini laptop (don't remember specific model). myself installed ubuntu on yesterday.
