Thread: My laptop is not recognising my headphones


hello everyone.
2 weeks ago installed first time ubuntu (i removed vista os , installed ubuntu 10.10). problem was hard me make internal microphone or other microphone working... or working skype... after trying different things (like removing pulseaudio - first tried putting left channel of microphone 100% , right 0% make mono didn't help). after removed , updated alsa... , working there noise... still can hear friends. problem laptop not recognising headphones , problem me. here info alsa: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=47...149c5f3107f539.. , attached alsa properties.. , skype properties also... happy if suggest me , me both of problems

p.s. , forgot mention cnanged alsa-base.conf file... looks that:

i hate it, going @ wrong way, don't have remove pulse in order skype work web cams , microphones.

suggest reversing changes made, , using alsamixer set volumes need them.

don't mention type of system using, or if skype worked in windows, it's pretty hard without proper information
