Thread: Black Screen after Sleep (Kubuntu)

i know there lot of other posts this, have been looking hours , still haven't found solution.

have installed kubuntu linux along side windows 7, sleep on win7 works fine , resumes normal. when loaded kubuntu, , put laptop sleep, goes sleep normal. when go resume sleep, screen stays solid black, doesn't light up, no blinking curser or anything. wi-fi light 'off' (orange) , cannot turn on. caps lock , num lock lights on keyboard blink slowly. hear on inside of computer start spin.
not experienced kubuntu/linux, know bunch of computer terminology, still far expert though.

have 300gb designated win7 stuff, , partition 100gb kubuntu linux.

computers specs follows: windows 7 64-bit have recent version of kubuntu because downloaded few days ago , updated yesterday. amd athlon duel-core processor 4gb of ram , hp g61 laptop. ati radeon hd 4200 graphics.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
