Thread: Help - Attempted TOR install has frozen Synaptic

dear ubuntniks,

complete ubuntu noob, heeded advice tor not using standard repository version , attempted use terminal install tor natty.

error when try open synaptic:

e: malformed line 59 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
e: list of sources not read.
go repository dialog correct problem.
e: _cache->open() failed, please report.

i've looked around on forum , seen similar problems nothing quite same. source output:

have done wrong?
how synaptic live again?
how can install tor (and torbutton) onto machine?
