Thread: Internet & Filesharing without router on Ubuntu 11.01, OSX 10.4.11 PPC

i'm having confusing issue.
have:

emac mac os x 10.4.11 ppc
gateway (unknown model) ubuntu 11.04 x86
--no router between them--

on emac (osx10.4.11) i've got wireless usb card , ethernet port.
usb connected router internet.
ethernet port connected ubuntu 11.04 machine.

on ubuntu 11.04 machine, i've got 2 ethernet ports. 1 connected emac, other empty.

have mac setup filesharing (still setup filesharing through router windows pc). ubuntu setup share few folders on slave 160gig.
mac setup share usb ethernet.

result: internet works on ubuntu!
problem: mac not have ip ethernet port (yet somehow internet still works on ubuntu).
ubuntu reports it's ip address 192.168.2.2.
so, tired connect ip mac using "go> connect server" [smb://192.168.2.2]
result: asks credentials. i'm idiot , use same username/pass combo both machines, idk if user in space provided mac or ubuntu. entered password , get... error code 50

don't know here.

sure seems have router - it's handing out ip addresses. both machines seem on same subnet.

may making harder needs be.
machine supposed sender, , receiver?
regular hookup, or one-time transfer?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
